Love Photographed in the Morning

We all have small moments that touch our hearts in the day. Too often they go unrecognized. Love photographed is proof of all the good in our life. The beauty of being a photographer is that we consistently train our brains to see beauty all around us. It may not always be in terms of a special moment or something iconic to us, but being a photographer changes the way we view the world, details, and how we see light. It’s kind of like x-ray vision for life.

This Iconic Blog Series submission from Asha Marie Photography sparked an image in my head of my own life that I will put into an iconic post another day. I hope that this blog series has the same effect on more people, because we all have room for a little more beauty and joy in our days.

Here’s what Ashley had to say on her photo and why it is iconic to her:

I don’t know when it started, but for as long as I can remember in my 8 year relationship with my now husband, he has made my first cup of coffee.  Every.  Single.  Day.  I got this table from an antique store against his wishes because I thought it would be a great place to serve as our personal cafe.  He has never admitted it, but I know he is now happy I brought it home.  It is where we give hugs, kisses, and say our good mornings.  We embrace the chaos around us and wish we had just a little more time to sleep.  It is messy and imperfect but is also safe and warm. On my dream guy check list, ‘makes me coffee’ wasn’t on there.  But now that I have it, I can’t imagine my life a single day without this scene.

This photo is iconic to the life and love that we have built.  I know whatever happens today, we can figure it out right here tomorrow.

I help client documentary photographers fine-tune their workflow + marketing game, so their work is filled with sessions that represent their voice + client values while earning a living. I shoot undirected, off-beat stories that aren’t preserved often enough (like the story of couples before starting a fam or becoming empty-nesters – a dream project of mine), so my clients’ old box of photos is a meaningful, visual diary of their life + legacy to leave behind.
