A Brother that Eats Rocks

I’ve never been in the frame more than I have been in the last month. On this day in October, we headed outside after school, because the weather was unbelievably nice for a fall evening here in Michigan. The problem with taking little brother Levi with us is that he is at that 13 month ripe age of putting e-v-e-r-y-t-h-i-n-g in his mouth. I get far less photos these days with this new passion for eating rocks he has acquired.

I told Kendall how she used to eat rocks too and I think she thought I was nuts. Clearly, she thought this was entertaining enough to photograph me leaping forward to hook yet another rock out of her little bro’s mouth.

I help client documentary photographers fine-tune their workflow + marketing game, so their work is filled with sessions that represent their voice + client values while earning a living. I shoot undirected, off-beat stories that aren’t preserved often enough (like the story of couples before starting a fam or becoming empty-nesters – a dream project of mine), so my clients’ old box of photos is a meaningful, visual diary of their life + legacy to leave behind.
